Computer doesn't Turn On

If your computer doesn't start whether you have tried a lot of times turning it on and forcing the power button but nothing happened screen stays blank.Don't think that you will have to buy a new computer.Because in most cases a tiny thing can cause this problem e.g power cable etc.So to get rid of the problem follow the steps given below and follow each and every point as given whether you tired it before or not(Its important)

External Checkup
First of all try the following.
  • Check the power cable whether its connected or not.Try changing power cord and also check the power board.
  • Disconnect everything and check the monitor. If the LED is on or blinking its ok.
  • Check the switch on power supply (if it has one)
  • Disconnect all devices printer, mouse, keyboard, camera. USB drives etc.The only cables that should be connected are power and VGA cable.
Now Turn on the PC if OK then enjoy otherwise follow us.

Internal inspection
Unplug the PC and open the cover.Check the following
  • Check the main power cable coming from power supply to the mother board. It should be proper in its place and firmly connected.
  • Check the RAM.Disconnect and connect them again.
Try Again but this time with cover open.Mostly this solves the problem.
Otherwise unplug and try with necessary components only which are
  • Power Supply
  • CPU
  • Mother board
  • One Memory module
  • Graphics card
Remove all other components e.g Extra Sound card, Hard drive, Memory modules except one. Then try Turning On your PC if it is turning on then Attach the extra components one by one. Connect one Component At a time e.g first time only Hard Drive. In this way you will identify the faulty component.

Clear CMOS memory
If problem still occurs You will have to clear CMOS memory. This is a small memory located on Motherboard to save your computer configuration.Clearing CMOS memory usually involves changing jumper position or shorting pins or pads.On the motherboard the location of CMOS is where CLR_CMOS , CCMOS , or CLRTC is written. After clearing CMOS memory reconnect all parts and Turn on you computer Press F1 to enter setup and reconfigure it.

Bad contacts
Next step will be cleaning bad contacts. It involves cleaning memory slots, video card slots, CPU socket. For this you will need PCB(Printed Circuit Board) Cleaner e.g isopropyl alcohol and a brush. Then start cleaning the given components one by one.Properly Clean both slots and attachment pins to solve the problem. Then dry them and reconnect in proper place.

Troubleshooting
If problem still occurs it means one of the essential components is defective you will have to check the necessary parts one by one which are
  1. Power Supply
  2. CPU
  3. Mother board
  4. Memory module
  5. Graphics card
To check these components install these parts one at a time in another similar computer. And check which part is defective and replace that.
